the trellis blog.
Unbeknownst to me, I have been on the hunt for the perfect notebook for most of my life. No smart device will ever interfere with my love affair of pen meeting paper. Truth be known, the generic Staples spiral notebook was my go-to for years. The paper is the perfect density for an inky pen-lover like myself, yet I craved a sophisticated notebook. I’ve tried many–I’m a keeper of hundreds of blank books. And then, I found it. The logo-less, simply yet thoughtfully organized, clean, blank book that I plucked off a book store’s shelf and realized was the one. I had met the Leuchtturm1917 A5: the notebook that won the unknown competition in my world.
I have one that I call my Parenting Journal. All notes pertaining to my kids go in it, from: teacher conferences, doctor appointments, workshops, lectures, personal reflections and musings. It’s all in one place (with numbered pages and a blank Table of Contents in the front so notes can be easily found), and it easily fits into my handbag.
I have another that I call my Work Journal. Every idea, brainstorm, meeting note, website password resides here.
So long to individual scraps of paper with treasured notes and ideas. HELLO perfect notebook. May I come to know many of you as my years push on.
